Each spot highlights the blessings of the region’s mountains and ocean.

Find the perfect dining experience to match your travel style.

【1】Ristorante Hoshi Umi — A Fine-Dining Experience You Can Enjoy With Your Dog

“Hoshi Umi” is a special restaurant created for guests who want to enjoy gourmet dining together with their dogs.

Following its renewal in March 2025, it has gained attention as a place where guests can savor a full course meal without being separated from their pets.

The chef crafts a Japanese-Western fusion course featuring seasonal vegetables from Kyoto-Tango and Miyazu-produced olive oil. Each dish showcases the fragrance of the season.

With just six counter seats (maximum eight) and only one group per evening, the quiet space allows you to relax in complete privacy—just like dining at home.

A dedicated dog-friendly menu is also available, designed with both flavor and nutrition in mind so that the whole family can enjoy the meal together.

The course includes approximately nine dishes, from appetizers to fish, meat, and dessert. The menu changes depending on ingredients available that day, offering a fresh experience on every visit.

During winter (Nov 8–Mar 20), guests can indulge in a luxurious crab course featuring Matsuba-gani, the region’s prized winter delicacy.

The restaurant also offers a carefully selected lineup of sake from the Kyoto Tango region, chosen to complement the flavors of each dish.

Nearby facilities such as Grande Doggy’s Resort Kyoto Amanohashidate and Natural Hot Springs & Private SPA Rurihama welcome dogs, making Hoshi Umi an ideal dining choice during your stay.

Complimentary shuttle service is available from the villas, so you can enjoy wine or sake without worry.

【2】Sushi “Zabou” — Premium Edo-Style Sushi Featuring Tango’s Finest Seafood

“Sushi Zabou” opened in April 2021 and is helmed by chef Yoichi Akashi, who trained for 15 years at Michelin-listed restaurants and at an Edo-style sushi establishment in Tokyo’s Roppongi district.

The restaurant uses only the best fish caught that day around Miyazu and the Tango Peninsula, along with carefully selected red vinegar and rice.

Enjoy one-of-a-kind sushi crafted with Edo-style techniques that highlight the natural flavors of local seafood.

Inside, the restaurant offers only eight counter seats. Watching the chef prepare each piece right before you is a treat for sushi lovers.

The omakase course consists of around 15 dishes, changing daily depending on the catch—making it enjoyable even on repeat visits.

Currently, the restaurant operates on a single evening seating starting at 18:00. Early reservations are recommended for weekends and holidays.

Allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated if communicated at the time of booking, though same-day changes cannot be made.

A selection of sake centered around local Kyoto breweries is also available.

Located just a one-minute walk from Natural Hot Springs & Private SPA Rurihama, it’s an ideal option for villa guests looking to enjoy authentic sushi in the evening.

If you're looking for top-quality sushi prepared with local fish, this restaurant deserves to be your first choice.

【3】Italian Restaurant Cielo — Mediterranean-Inspired Cuisine With Panoramic Ocean Views

“Cielo” is an Italian restaurant offering breathtaking views of the Tango Sea and sky beyond Amanohashidate.

Local seafood—often associated with Japanese cuisine—is given a Mediterranean twist using vegetables, herbs, and olive oil from the restaurant’s own organic farm.

The menu ranges from antipasto and pizza to pasta, secondi, and desserts, allowing guests to enjoy Tango’s natural flavors at both lunch and dinner.

Special ingredients such as cheese from Tango Jersey Farm “Milk Kobo Sora” and Banshu Hyakujidori chicken elevate each dish.

Soft natural light fills the dining room through large ocean-facing windows, and sunset dining provides an unforgettable atmosphere.

With both course menus and lighter à la carte options, the restaurant is ideal for casual lunches, romantic dinners, or special celebrations.

Since it is open only on Fridays and Saturdays (lunch hours vary), advance reservations are recommended.

If you want to enjoy the rich flavors of Kyoto–Tango with a Mediterranean essence while gazing out over the sea, this is the perfect choice.

【4】Japanese Cuisine Soranokaori — Kaiseki Dining That Celebrates the Seasons of Tango

“Soranokaori” serves refined kaiseki cuisine centered around the natural bounty of Kyoto’s Tango region.

Using freshly harvested organic vegetables from its own farm and seafood prepared directly from the restaurant’s large live tank, each dish reflects meticulous attention to freshness and seasonality.

The seasonal omakase menu follows the traditional ichiju-sansai structure, highlighting local fish, vegetables, and rice.

Counter seating allows guests to enjoy the craftsmanship of the chefs up close, while table seating provides a calm setting for families, groups, and special occasions.

For breakfast, the restaurant offers comforting Japanese-style meals such as Okayu Gozen and Chisou Gozen.

Enjoying a local breakfast outside your villa can enrich your stay even further.

Local sake from northern Kyoto is paired to complement the delicate flavors of each dish.

“KUROSAKI” offers spectacular panoramic views of the Sea of Japan, paired with sushi and Japanese dishes showcasing the seasonal bounty of the Tango region.

The restaurant sources fresh fish landed daily at local ports—summer brings striped beakfish and flying fish, while winter offers wild yellowtail and striped jack.

Each piece of sushi is carefully prepared to highlight the fish’s optimal flavor and texture.

Dinner features omakase-style kaiseki courses including appetizers, tempura, sushi, soup, and dessert.
